Sitting in the middle of the Breakfast Point, Canada Bay development is the old Plumbers Workshop. After being derelict for many years, this heritage building was earmarked for development into a collection of luxury apartments.
Impact Group were selected to take part in the refurbishment of the workshop, just one of the several buildings located within the new Breakfast Point development. This involved removal of existing lead paint using abrasive blasting in preparation for new and exciting residential apartments.
CHALLANGE
To remove the lead paint from this heritage building while providing protection to the surrounding environment from lead contamination.
SOLUTION
The building was scaffolded and encapsulated to protect the surrounding environment from contamination. Mobile dust extraction systems were installed to process dust created during the works.
RESULTS
With the lead paint removed, the original architectural brick features were revealed and the building was on the way to being ready for it’s new residents.
