Unison House HAZMAT Removal

Impact Group was engaged by Taylor Construction Group to undertake the removal of approximately 7,000m² of hazardous lead-based paint from heritage brickwork and timber surfaces, along with extensive asbestos removal throughout the building.

The scope of works included the internal encapsulation of the multi-storey building, followed by controlled abrasive blasting to remove lead-based coatings while strictly adhering to the heritage architect’s specifications and preservation requirements. Additional works involved the safe removal and disposal of asbestos-containing flooring and roof sheeting.

Upon completion, Impact Group undertook comprehensive decontamination of the building, ensuring all hazardous materials were safely removed and disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements. The project concluded with independent occupational hygienist clearance certification, allowing the building to be safely handed back to the client, ready for the next stage of construction.
